Open t8x.net and a grid of 8 text areas fills your screen, ready for everything you are working with, all visible at the same time, all saved automatically to your browser. You can change the number of text areas any time.
Everything you type at T8X stays on your device. Local-only storage is how T8X was built from the start. Your information is kept private.
Your T8X URL is Your Workspace
Type t8x.net/workspace/my-project and a named workspace exists immediately, carrying its own saved content and its own visual preferences. Append /twelve to any URL and twelve text areas appear. Navigate to /three and three text areas fill the screen.
At T8X, browser bookmarks become your filing system and browser history becomes your workspace archive. Your entire organizational structure lives in the address bar, making navigation itself the act of creation.
Typing a URL is all the onboarding that T8X requires. No account creation, no setup screen, and no configuration step stands between you and a working T8X workspace.
See All Your Text Areas on One Screen at the Same Time
T8X displays all your text areas simultaneously on a single screen, giving you complete visibility over everything you are working with.
Open a T8X workspace and 2 to 16 text areas appear on screen simultaneously, in a scratchboard grid that adjusts to any screen size automatically. Every text area is visible and every text area is editable. You move between your snippets, drafts, and notes with your eyes, because every text area is already on screen at the same time.
Each text area works as a self-contained clipboard tool. Save each text area's content to a file. Load any text file into a text area. Copy all content in one click. Paste in three ways: replace the text area's content, add to the beginning, or add to the end. Step backward through 200 undo steps whenever you want. A live counter tracks characters and words as you type. A colored dot shows you at a glance whether each text area is empty, saved (green), or has changes waiting (orange).
Everything you are working with at T8X stays in view, all at once, across a single screen. You gain the kind of spatial awareness that makes complex text work genuinely faster.

When you type or copy and paste text to T8X, your text content lives exclusively in your browser's local storage. T8X runs completely inside your browser window. The server that delivers T8X handles page routing and language selection only.
Your writing, your code, your notes, and your client work stay on your device because T8X was designed from the start around one principle: user content stays local.
Our local-first architecture is genuinely elegant and truly privacy-first. All content you create at T8X is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and travels nowhere else. Because your content stays in your browser, T8X requires no account to manage it, no server to store it, and no data policy to govern it. The architecture itself is the privacy guarantee.
Drop Files and T8X Handles the Rest
Drop a single file onto any T8X text area and the file loads immediately. Drop multiple files anywhere on the T8X page and T8X counts the files, creates a workspace sized to match, places each file in a dedicated text area, and takes you to the new workspace in one gesture.
Seven files, for example, open in a new workspace with eight text areas, with each file loaded into its own dedicated text area and one text area left open for your notes. T8X always sizes the workspace to the next available grid size above the number of files you dropped.
Workspaces That Remember Everything
Every T8X workspace carries a distinct visual identity. T8X supports light or dark mode, and four color intensity levels: Clean, Pastel, Vivid, or Intense. Each intensity level maps eight distinct accent colors across your text areas, designed for full legibility in every combination.
One workspace runs dark and vivid while another runs light and pastel. Each workspace remembers its own settings independently.
T8X export gives you complete control: download any single text area as a text file, download all text areas from a workspace combined into one file, or export every workspace you have created as a single archive.
